BOSTON -- Zach Britton wound up being the star of Tuesday night's pitchers duel at Fenway Park, even though he only pitched 1 2/3 innings.
Britton was issued a tough assignment when he entered in the eighth inning with the Baltimore Orioles leading the Boston Red Sox by two runs but with runners on the corners and only one out.
The first batter he faced was David Ortiz, who struck out swinging. Britton gave up an RBI single to Hanley Ramirez but escaped the jam on Jackie Bradley Jr.'s comebacker to the mound.
