NORTON, Mass. -- Jason Day's wife and children were involved in a traffic accident near his motor home on Friday, the world's top-ranked golfer was informed at the Deutsche Bank Championship.
Day's wife Ellie, children Dash and Lucy and friend Katie were riding in their car when it was hit by a bus.
Ellie was taken to a hospital as a precaution, but was released. Day was informed of the accident after his round.
"Thankfully everyone is now resting comfortably," the Australian said in a statement. "We want to thank the emergency services and hospital personnel for their assistance."
