OAKMONT, Pa. -- Shane Lowry sank two more birdies Sunday morning to complete his third round with a 5-under-par 65 and take a four-shot lead at 7-under entering the final round at the 116th U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club.
"It's probably the best round of my career," the 29-year-old Irishman said. "To come back out this morning and get two birdies is huge."
Andrew Landry and Dustin Johnson are tied for second, four shots behind Lowry. Lee Westwood of England and Daniel Summerhays are tied for fourth, five shots back. Branden Grace of South Africa is in sole sixth and six back.
