The Philadelphia Phillies found their man in 18-year-old Mickey Moniak.
After weeks of speculation, the Phillies decided to take the young left-handed hitting outfielder from La Costa Canyon High in Carlsbad, Calif., with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2016 MLB draft on Thursday night in Secaucus, N.J.
"It's indescribable," Moniak told MLB Network moments after he was drafted. "It's always a kid's dream to get draft by a major league team, but to be the No. 1 pick -- it's insane."
